A verbatim performance by Angela El-Zeind.
After being diagnosed with primary breast cancer in 2018, artistic director Angela El-Zeind developed the idea for a performance that acknowledges and recognises the period following active treatment, when you start picking up the pieces and dealing with your grief.
Based on interviews with women affected by breast cancer, and with the choreography of Katie Dale-Everett (Artistic Director of Sussex Dance Network), this multimedia post-verbatim performance explores the impact that a life changing diagnosis can have on our sense of identity, priorities, body image, mental health and relationships.
“It is a raw, funny and honest insight into the magic which can happen when your life as you know it, stops. Although we use the catalyst of a breast cancer diagnosis, this play is actually about resilience. It is about discovering what matters most and living your life fully, and that is a story that deserves to be told.”
