In August 2024, our friend Caroline Sikkenk the talented photographer and founder of the BOLD exhibition visited Antilope De Bie Printing to see the very first copies of the #BOLDphoto book roll off the press!
With the support of Susan de Loor and funds generously donated to the Pink Ribbon Foundation via monies raised by DEMAIN, Caroline created a breathtaking table book featuring around 100 incredible women (and their loved ones) - all proud members of the BOLD family.
The book captures Caroline’s moving images from around the world, celebrating the beauty, courage, and resilience of women of all ages who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, intensive radiation treatment, or alopecia.
Since then, BOLD has taken us on a remarkable journey - from its powerful debut at #PINKLondon2023, to being lit up on the Piccadilly Lights and Times Square for World Cancer Day, to an exhibition at the Sidings Waterloo and now immortalised in this stunning publication.
Today, as we gear up to the BOLD Scotland launch in Glasgow on the 25th September, we’re revisiting that milestone - capturing the passion, people, and purpose behind the making of the book.
Looking back fills us with pride - and looking forward, we’re excited to keep growing the BOLD movement across the UK.
London – done ✔️
Scotland – done ✔️
Next up Wales? Ireland? What do you think?
