Vix's Story
Here’s what you should know
Every year, in England around 46,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer, this includes men AND women.
Breast cancer is the 4th most common cause of cancer death in the UK.
An estimated 600,000 people are alive in the UK after a diagnosis of breast cancer. This is predicted to rise to 1.2 million in 2030 with the ongoing donations and fundraising that people do to enable better research and treatments.
I’ve completed 5ks, 10ks & fun runs but this half marathon will be my longest distance yet, in fact, just over double a 10, which won’t be a run for fun this time! 🤪
So, my chosen charity is The Pink Ribbon Foundation, it is a grant making trust, funding projects and providing financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, have been affected by breast cancer, or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer and its early detection and treatment. 💕
Someone close to me has been recently diagnosed & I have decided to run the Humber Half Marathon on 29th September 2024. Running is my passion and I would be so grateful for any donations in support of this amazing charity. Not everyone is so lucky when it comes to cancer and it is important to keep raising awareness. 💕
I will post updates on social media etc of my progress.
Thanks in advance, I am so grateful already.
