Lucja Leonard takes on the Triple Crown of 200's

Lucja Leonard (@runningdutchie) is an ultra runner and a supporter of the Pink Ribbon Foundation. With breast cancer having affected many of her friends and family members, she embarked on a big adventure to support our charity back in 2016 with her friend and fellow runner Marina Ranger. Together the pair ran the length of the Netherlands, 500km in 5 days in just their pink underwear and raised £8,000 for the Foundation.

This year Lucja has decided to run the Triple Crown of 200s. The triple crown of 200’s are three ultra races that take place in Washington, California, and Utah. These races are 200 miles each, so completing all three would total 600 miles of racing in eight weeks. Mind and body will be put to the ultimate test with the first race starting on Friday 13th August, which will be the Bigfoot 200 (208 miles, 42,000ft), this distance is like running from London to York, but imagine this on dense single track forest trails, including waist high river crossings and climbing the height of Everest 1.5 times! The cut off is 107hrs so the clock does NOT stop along the way.

After Bigfoot 200, Lucja will take on the Tahoe 200 (205 miles, 40,200ft) on the 10th September and finally the Moab 240 (240 miles, 29,467ft) on the 8th October!
