Penrith Cricket Club

Penrith Cricket Club bubbled with an unusual hue last Saturday as the Club’s Chair, Vice Chair and other senior officials supported by Hannah Bradley Miss England Finalist 2019, served tea with prosecco to more than 70 guests.  Each table was decorated in pink, and the waiters forsook the usual black and white for fine pink waistcoats.  All in aid of the Pink Ribbon Foundation, a charity set up to support those affected by breast cancer and which promotes the message that a healthy diet and exercise can reduce the onset of breast cancer by up to a third via it's #SHOOT4PINK campaign.

The second annual charity day in aid of the Foundation, was declared a great success by the guests, and the atmosphere bubbled over to the many friends and supporters, who had come to watch the cricket.  Chairman Andy Hall was pleased to see so many willing to give generously in a good cause and commented, “The spirit in our main function room was tremendous, full of happy chatter and enjoyment for the day.  It was good to have so many people in the club, and to raise funds for an important cause. The link to sport was obvious, but we just wanted to do our best for something that we know is vitally important to so many people.  I believe that as a local community club, we must encourage and support the people of the town as much as we can. Such a shame that the cricket wasn’t so successful as we lost a game that we could have won!”

The day, which was sponsored by Cartmell & Co Solicitors raised more than £900 for the Pink Ribbon Foundation and we are delighted with the Club's annual support. Thank you to Brian and the whole team for organising such a wonderful event and to all those attended and made the day such a success!
